Q:  Where do I get questions answered about my residential utility bills?

A:   City of Harrisburg residents may call the City’s Bureau of Operations and Revenue Department at (717) 255-6514, for all billing inquiries, or they can check the City’s website at: http://harrisburgpa.gov/


Q:  What are the address and telephone numbers for the Water and Sewer Bureaus for the City of Harrisburg?

A:   Bureau of Water is officially known as the Dr. Robert E. Young Water Services Center and is located at 100 Pine Drive, Harrisburg, PA  17103.  Telephone: (717) 238-8725.  You can also check the City’s website at: http://harrisburgpa.gov/

A Bureau of Sewerage is officially known as the Harrisburg Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility (AWTF) and is located at 1662 South Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104-3145  Telephone: (717) 939-7270.  You can also check the City’s website at: http://harrisburgpa.gov/

Q:  What is the address and telephone number for the Department of Public Works for the City of Harrisburg?

Q:  What is the address and telephone number for the Harrisburg Resource Recovery Facility a/k/a Harrisburg Incinerator?

A:   Harrisburg Resource Recovery Facility (HRRF) is operated by Covanta Harrisburg, Inc. and is located at 1670 S. 19th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.  Telephone: (717) 236-0958 ext. 200 for the Receptionist. Q:  When can I take my trash to the Resource Recovery Facility?

A:   Monday thru Friday 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  The Facility is closed to the public on Sundays.  - Please call (717) 635-9039 or (717) 236-0958 ext. 200 for Holiday Hours of Operation. 

Q:  I am a first time customer.  What methods of payment are available at the Resource Recovery Facility?

A:   The Facility accepts, cash, check or credit card payments for one-time customers.  Checks must be made payable to "THE HARRISBURG AUTHORITY".   Checks and credit card* payments are available for one-time customers Monday thru Friday 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM.   Cash customers are accepted Monday thru Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM only and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  (YOU MUST BE IN LINE BY 10:30 AM ON SATURDAYS).  The Facility is closed to the public on Sundays.  Please call (717) 635-9039 or (717) 236-0958 ext. 200 for Holiday Hours of Operation.  - SEE RULES OF CONDUCT FOR ONE TIME CUSTOMERS EFFECTIVE 1-1-12.

Q:  How much will I have to pay to dispose of waste at the Resource Recovery Facility?

A:   Current 2012 Gate Rates - Gate Rates Effective June 1, 2012.  THA approved new 2013 Gate Rates on April 24, 2013 to become effective June 1, 2013

Q:  What are the current water rates?

A:   See the attached Water Rate Table dated 9-14-11 provided by the City of Harrisburg, Bureau of Operations and Revenue.  All inquiries regarding water rates should be directed to the Bureau of Operations and Revenue at (717) 255-6514.

 

Q:  What are the current sewer rates?

A:   Sewer rates are set by the City of Harrisburg.  See the attached Sewer Rate Table dated 9-14-11 provided by the City of Harrisburg, Bureau of Operations and Revenue.  All inquiries regarding sewer rates should be directed to the Bureau of Operations and Revenue at (717) 255-6514. 

 

 Q.  How do I obtain a Right to Know Request Form?  To whom do I address a Right to Know request?

Q.  Are copies of Resolutions adopted by The Harrisburg Authority available?

A.  Copies of Authority Resolutions as of 1991 to present date are now available on our website under the "Meetings" Tab or "Click Here".

Q.  Are copies of Harrisburg Authority meeting tapes available?

A.  Effective 9-26-12 MP3 files of the Authority's public meetings are available  to you via a Right to Know Request.  See Fill-In Right to Know Request (RTK) Form

Q.  Are there fees charged by THA for review of Sewer Planning Modules? 

A.  Yes.  The fee is $300.00 for administrative review and approval of sewer planning modules.  Checks should be made payable to "The Harrisburg Authority".  See Resolution No. 2013-001 adopted on 3-27-13.
